Picket Fence Finance’s newest broker, Leah Walkenhorst, understands the importance of referred client care.
Picket Fence Finance, Melbourne’s personalised mortgage service specialist, has welcomed a new member to their team with the recent appointment of Finance Broker, Leah Walkenhorst. The addition of Leah to the Picket Fence Finance family highlights the rapid growth of their business since opening their doors in 2011. With a strong referral base generated by financial planners, accountants, lawyers and real estate agents, Co-Director David Kearns believes Leah is the ideal person to continue the high standard of client service this specialised area demands.
“Leah is passionate about building a reputation as a leading mortgage broker based on outstanding service to our clients,” says David. “She is very determined, has exceptional customer service, and exudes professionalism at all times. We identified these qualities in Leah straight away and knew she’d be a great addition to our team.”
Leah’s role will have a strong focus on expanding Picket Fence Finance’s referral base of professional services. As such she liaises closely with lawyers, financial planners, accountants, and real estate agents on a daily basis. She understands the importance these types of professionals place on ensuring their valued clients receive the right advice. “At Picket Fence Finance we appreciate that for a financial planner, for example, their business is centred on the retention of lifelong clients. When they make a referral to us they need peace of mind that we’ll not only take the stress out of the process, but that we’ll provide their client with first class customer service at every stage. It’s all about building trust.”
Leah’s genuine interest in finance from an early age steered her towards a Double Degree in International Relations and Commerce (Commercial Law), and a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking. Leah has since commenced studies for her Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking, and has enjoyed a successful career spanning several years in finance, and moving into mortgage broking in 2015.
“Mortgage Broking is enjoyable for me. It’s fast paced and has lots of variety but largely it’s about the clients – you can save people a lot of money,” says Leah. “I love helping people take financial control of their lives, and property ownership is one of the most important ways people can do that.”
As the youngest member of the Picket Fence Finance team, Leah’s youthful energy contrasts well with her mature outlook to client care. An enthusiasm for the latest technology is an additional generation benefit, and Leah’s tech savvy skill set sees her confidently communicate with clients across any medium.
As Picket Fence Finance look towards another year of growth and expansion, they are confident that Leah will add value to their clients, colleagues and stakeholders. With the Melbourne mortgage brokers concentrating mainly on mortgages, Kearns feels Leah’s professionalism and experience is well matched to the needs of their clients. “At Picket Fence Finance our mantra is to be the best at what we do, i.e. mortgages. Leah fits the bill perfectly and is a much welcomed addition to the team.”
